Date: 2 Sep 2008

Bathymetric and shallow seismic surveys have today been completed on behalf of Birse Coastal Ltd. for the £25m Link Harbour Works in Penzance and St Mary's, Isles of Scilly.

The Isles of Scilly Link Harbour Works is a combination of projects (harbour extensions and passenger vessel replacement) which together will secure the future continuation of a sea service between Penzance and St Mary’s.

The EM3002 multibeam was used in conjunction with RTK positioning to comply with strigent client specifications. Shallow geophysical data were also collected using a vessel mounted sub-bottom profiler. The survey was mobilised onboard Mojo Maritime's 'Portree II' vessel.
