Prestigious Business Award Nomination

Date: 3 May 2010

Insight Marine Projects are pleased to announce they have been shortlisted by the Cornwall Development Company for the Best Use of Technology award at the Cornwall Business Awards to be held on the 20th May 2010.

Jane & Alex Richards

The Best Use of Technology award has been sponsored by BT and recognizes the innovative use of wifi technology by Insight Marine Projects during a recent project in Panama. The wifi network was used as the backbone telemetry link between vessels to monitor remote positions and provide overview on tasks such as anchor deployments from a central control point. This reduced the need for extra personnel to run survey software on the remote vessels.

The awards will take place at the St Mellion International Resort, the event is organized by the Cornwall Development Company in partnership with the SWRDA and Business Link.

The awards and the winners will be introduced by Daphne Skinnard of BBC Radio Cornwall. Karren Brady will be the keynote speaker at the Cornwall Business Awards 2010.  Recently appointed vice chairman at West Ham United FC and unveiled as Margaret Mountford’s successor advising Alan Sugar in The Apprentice, Karren has been named by Cosmopolitan among its “100 most powerful women in the world”.  Best known as the dynamic managing director of Birmingham City FC, during a time of great change in the national game, her speech will mark the start of Cornwall’s most prestigious business awards event.

Fingers crossed!
