BWEA Changes name to RenewableUK

The British Wind Energy Association (BWEA) has formally re-branded as RenewableUK, after the trade association's members last week voted in favour of proposals to change the group's name.
The organisation said that it would also replace its existing logo with a new blue logo consisting of three wavy lines, adding that the full re-branding would be completed by the start of its 2010 Wave and Tidal Energy Conference at the QE2 Conference Centre in London on 4 March.
The BWEA said that, after five years representing companies from the wave and tidal energy sector, the new name would better reflect the breadth of its 544 members, around a third of which operate in the marine energy sector.

Case Study: SeaGen Installation - Surface Positioning Marine Current Turbines Ltd (MCT) recently completed work in Strangford Lough (Northern Ireland) on the installation of its 1.2MW SeaGen tidal system.
