Orecon Pre-installation site survey completed

Date: 9 Oct 2008

A hydrographic and shallow seismic cable route and site survey has recently been completed for Orecon Ltd. to assess the suitability of an area off the coast of Cornwall for their developmental MRC (Multi Resonant Chambers) wave energy device.

A Kongsberg EM3002 multibeam with the QINSy navigation and data processing suite was used in addition to Sonar Equipment Services' sub bottom profiler equipment and C-Max sidescan sonar. The resulting data will allow Orecon to make informed choices on the suitabilty of the site for the installation of their 1.5MW device.
